'I got my hater-blockers on..."

Well, that is one of the later songs out now. At first I had no clue then I realised they were talking about.."I got my shades/ sunglasses on". So that is how I roll these days. I usually have on my hater blockers from the moment I step out of the house, to when I get in the office. Lol! I ain't trying to be having conversations with random men and women at the bus stop nor on the bus.

So...how has life been? Well in the beginning on the summer I reflected on what a nice summer it was gonna be after I got settled. And today I had a panic flash that it is almost over. I got about one more month of work, then a mild break and back for round two...got my eyes on the prize...Graduation in May with GOD's help to take me through the final year.

I was talking to this new Architect in the Transport division of my office telling him I can't wait to finish school. So he was like "yeah...cause when you get to 25-30yrs and get settled with the family..you want to be finished with school." Lol! Well I nearly fell on the floor laughing in my mind. Then I gathered myself and told him I am already there in age...just not with the family and all. Then I try to change the convo, cause I didn't want him to feel bad.

In another caption of my life, I am extremely excited about my Latin dance class. I am now up to Level 6. But I feel sad in a way, cause my dance for level 6 is 8:30-9:30pm is on Tues and Thurs, so I am gonna have to tape one of my new favorite TV shows "So you think you can dance" which comes on Thurs. But dance has been fantastic, I look forward to it from the time I leave the class....I look forward to the next class. And from Thurs to Tues the wait seems never ending. Now I am gonna miss a week of class, since they cancelled all upper levels. The first ever Orlando Salsa Congress is taking place next weekend, so everyone is getting ready for it. But I don't think I will be going. Last weekend my roomie was all boyfriend'ed out. He was in town for the weekend and so she disappeared all weekend. So I was bored at the house and decided I needed to remember how to do things by myself. So I went to see the movie "Waist Deep". Then I called one of my friends who was going dancing. She is actually in another part of the state, so I was just gonna whine to her how I wish I could go. Turns out she wasn't going anymore, but had a friend in my area who she talked to and he was going dancing. To the same Salsa social I wanted to go to.

Oh! I was so excited! I asked for his number and called him to find out if I could go. He was like yeah, no problem, I am actually at a restaurant close to you. So I got all dressed and waited. Then I reflected on how dangerous it all was. My friend had never seen the guy before, nor met him. She was introduced to him by her best friend who is like a distant cousin of his. And I had never seen him before, but has spoken to him for the last couple months over the phone. I called him once before when she said he new someone with an apartment I could rent. Anyway, here I was going out with a complete stranger all for the love of dance. Yup! crazy. But then again my roomie's dad is a police office and the patrol car was parked outside. So I told him to come take a good look at the guy. So anyway he came and we left, so when we actually got to talking in the van, he asked if I was not afraid to be going out with a stranger. \(Just so you know it was not a date, there was the guy S and his three other male friends in separate cars. One from Turkey, one from Morocco or something and another Jamaican\) Anyway I told him nah, cause I already put the word out on him, so if I go missing...pple know. He laughed and said nah...he ain't gonna do me nothing. Phew! So anyway the night was good. Met his ex'gf and some of his other friends. He was actually Jamaican and went to the same University I did in Jamaica. He looked so Trini to me until he spoke. He was a dark Indian guy. When they dropped me back to the house they saw the patrol car and commented that that was the reason I probably was not afraid to go with them. So beware, do not attempt anything like this on your own.

On another word...up comes the fourth of July. But guess what? It is on a Tues. In Trinidad you know what that means for some people..and extra long weekend. But here I got to work Monday. Most of the 35+ people at the office are taking the day off, but since I am an hourly paid and don't have paid vacation...I will be at work. Might turn out to be quite relaxing. While the cats are away, the mouse will play.

In the news, a 12 year old boy from Kentucky died after riding the Walt Disney World's Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Now the autopsy says he had a heart condition. Well his family had no clue. So beware, get checked out before going on a 4.4 G-force ride.

What am I doing for the long weekend, well I went shopping....sorry I meant window shopping at this new mall, at some Boston Market and slept. Can't believe I slept from 12-4pm. I got up at 7am and went to the flea market with a friend, then slept, then got up and went to the mall. There was a shuttle launch today that I would have loved to drive over to see, but oh well. Who knows...maybe I might make it to the beach. Or even go watch some fireworks.

Until later...when I speak on some more random stuff.
